It’s all about hanging out with old friends and making new ones while catching nice food and drinks, enjoying some peaceful coziness and of course live bands and DJ sets.
The Jazz Cafe will offer you a variety of interesting areas: to eat, to chat, to listen to music, to enjoy our carefully selected Jazz Library and many more curious things.
We invite you to have lunch, a coffee or a snack there and browse new-to-you (dance) outfits in the secondhand shop.
The shakes have been a highlight in the past editions. We will happily ‘shake’ your Upside Down experience in these inspiring sessions where all participants and crew of Upside Down gather for a drink, snack, and ideas worth spreading.
In these three sessions, we will use different methodologies and group interactions to touch on different topics such as community, our relationship to the Black African American roots of the dance, sustainability & social themes. We’ll also honor the elder present at Upside Down Festival, insert some absurd fun and share updates on the festival it self. Some of you maybe would compare this with the ‘meeting’ at another famous festival.
We created an exquisite Pick ‘n’ Mix menu for all tastes and shapes, to spice up your festival experience. These delicious activities are grouped according different topics from which you can mix your most refined cocktail.

We like ‘gezelligheid’. It’s hard to translate, but the closest in English would be the word ‘coziness’. For one afternoon a dozen Ghentians open their living rooms. Different activities will be going on. At the festival, you have the ability to choose one living room to hang out at during this cozy afternoon.
