Tap Track

The tap track invites all tap dancers of intermediate and advanced level to rise up and shine! You have been tap dancing for at least 2 years. You have an understanding of musicality, a solid vocabulary of steps and can execute them in various tempos.

In the Tap track you will have 6 hours of tap classes over 3 days, in a small group with great international inspirers. They will help you deepen your proficiency in, understanding of, and love for tap dance. Your inspirers will provide keys to work on choregraphic expression : a mix of tap technique, and usage of space, movements and turns.

At the jazz cafe in the afternoons, there will be a tap jam. Make sure to bring your shoes!

Note for registration: This track is not suited for beginners, an intermediate/advanced level of tap dance is required to take part in the classes. If the inspirers notice your skills are not there yet, we will offer you an alternative way to engage.

This track is facilitated by these inspirers:

  • Kelly Isaac (he/him)
  • Soraya Bénac (she/her)

Meet your inspirers

kelly isaac

Kelly Isaac (he/him) started tap dancing at the early age of 4 in the metropolitan area of Washington D.C. At just 13 he began to devote himself professionally. He has also had the experience of working with Henry LeTang , Harold Nicholas of the Nicholas Brothers and Diane Walker among many legends of Tap Dance, and has been teaching in 20 countries around the world.

In his classes, Jazz and R&B are the musical selections to help students recognize the importance of the musicality of tap dance.
